ARCHIVAL & SPECIALIST FRAMING

If you are looking to frame something a little different you’re in the right place.

We love to experiment with framing processes to create you something completely unique. Sometimes ‘outside the box’ ideas are required for framing items where a regular kind of frame wont quite do the job.

Archival materials and processes can also be used throughout our entire framing service to provide protection and longevity to artworks where needed.

Protecting your artwork

UV PROTECTIVE GLASS

Various types of UV protective glass are available to help prevent fading of colours and signatures under glass.
The option to protect your pictures and allow maximum light transition for low reflection and vibrant colours is also available.
This letter from Buckingham palace has been glazed using museum glass, protecting it from 92% UV light whilst maintaining vibrancy of colour.

ARCHIVAL FLOAT MOUNTING

Some artworks require floating onto the mount. In these cases we use archival quality boards combined with acid free, fully removable materials to attach the piece.

WINDOW MOUNTING

Mounting artworks with a bevel cut window mount are attached using acid-free, lignin-free tapes buffered to pH 8.5.
To complete the process of framing to archival quality, all backings and sealing tapes are protective, acid free materials.
